Rick Rogers was born December 20, 1953 and left us surrounded by his loving wife of 46 years, Roxie Rogers, and close family on July 16, 2020. Rick was best described as the patriarch of the Rogers family, ensuring we always made the time to come together whether it be at the holidays or a family cookout. Importantly, he was truly someone you could always count on, lending a helping hand to support his friends and family when they needed it the most. Friends of a younger Rick may remember him for his fighting spirit and causing a little bit of trouble. He never backed down from a tussle, where he frequently called-in his big brother, Darrell, for back-up. From a young age, he had a thing for motors, continually tinkering and trading in for his next toy, whether that be a truck, boat, tractor, four-wheeler. As he matured and softened over the years, he translated his grit into the opening and running of Rick's Radiator & Muffler Shop and later added Lakeridge Self Storage. His business saw over 37 years of success, and with his recent retirement, his son Jeremy, follows in his father's footsteps to continue the business's legacy. For nearly 40 years, Rick cherished meeting at the local coffee shop every morning where he kept up with his friends. Afterwards he would call Belinda and Autumn to provide any inclement weather updates before they headed off to work. His idea of a perfect day would have included a drive down to the coast to feel the saltwater air coming in, and a long day of fishing on his boat, Backlash. He loved everything to do with water, and has a lake house with his wife Roxie, where they would frequently spend weekends enjoying the lake life. Living his life to the fullest, this year Rick had taken up gardening, seeing his first crop of tomatoes, peppers, okra, pumpkins, rosemary, basil, parsley and more just before he passed. He loved his wife, who was his rock and close family fiercely. We will miss him every day, but especially at our small family gatherings that we all hold close to our hearts. Rick is preceded in death by his parents Bob and Helen Rogers, and his daughter Amy Hartsfield. Rick is survived by his wife Roxie Rogers, son Jeremy Rogers with wife Jenni Rogers, his brother Darrell Rogers with wife Kaye Rogers, his sister Belinda Paroski with husband Bill Paroski, his granddaughters Autumn Smith and Anna Williams, great grandson Gary Smith, his nieces and nephews Zack Rogers, Meredith White, Kristen Tarlecki, Connor Paroski, and many many more family and friends.
