Loyd Lorenza "Pa-Pa" Lorentz, a devoted family man, hardworking craftsman, and proud veteran, passed away on December 24, 2024, at the age of 85. Loyd was born on April 15, 1939, in Ryan, Oklahoma, to Loyd Alton Lorentz and Lucille Imogen Keith. He grew up in Terral, Oklahoma, where he developed a lifelong love for farming and hard work. Loyd enlisted in the United States Navy on September 15, 1956, serving his country until April 15, 1960. He was stationed in San Diego, California, and later served aboard the USS Dixie 14, earning his GED during his service. A man of many trades, Loyd worked as a farmer, truck driver, and ironworker before owning and operating his own fabrication and machine shop. His industrious nature and commitment to excellence were evident in all he pursued. Loyd was a collector of eagle statues, a symbol of his free spirit and love for nature. He was also a devoted supporter of his children's and grandchildren's sports activities, spending a lifetime cheering them on from the sidelines. A member of the Methodist faith, Loyd cherished his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Lorentz; two daughters, Melodie (husband Denny) and Misty (husband Terrance); his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Justin (wife Hillary), Nicole (husband James), and Kayla (husband Chris), Sadie, TJ; and his wonderfully loved great grandchildren, Zack, Kinley, Kennedy, Emily, Dallas, Chance, Brooks, and Easton. Loyd's unwavering dedication to his family left a legacy of love and support that will be treasured by all who knew him. "In his mid 70's he climbed up on the carport to get a ball the kids lost. Just kind of sums up the way he was!! If he wanted to do something he did it!! Biggest thing to know about him is, nothing he'd rather do except aggravate or play with his kids, grand kids, and great grand kids." -Justin Loyd is preceded in death by his parents, a beloved daughter Gaylene, son-in-law Ronnie, and granddaughter-in-law Shevonda.
