Midlothian, Texas
Linda Kaye Ayers, affectionately known as Ninnie, was born on September 2, 1948, in Monahans, TX. She had a loving and compassionate spirit. She was a woman who found joy in the simplest things and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 28, 2026, in Sardis Texas. She left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories. Growing up in Buckners Children's Home in Dallas, she was the tiniest one on the basketball team with the most determination. She cherished her life long friends from there. These years were when she met the love of her life, Bobby Jack Ayers at the age of 16 after a blind date. Bob & Linda just celebrated 61 years of marriage on June 18th.
Linda would tell you her family was her whole world, heart and soul. Linda cherished her grandchildren and anticipated days seeing her young great grandsons..
Moments with Linda were full of laughter and stories, often at her own expense, as she tended to not have any "filter" in her boldness approach to life and conversation. Those who cherished her knew she lived life on her terms and was never afraid to voice her strong opinion.
A creative soul, her home and garden were an ongoing canvas she enjoyed. Her favorite things were to tend to her flowers, plants, and yards over the years. She was a crochet enthusiast and loved sewing and passed that knowledge down to her daughters and granddaughters. Watching her "bird cam", drinking her unsweet tea, and dictating commands to anyone in her path in the moment with instructions on how to make her furry babies comfortable made her days. Late evening trips to Choctaw with Bob to play on her favorite Ruby machine and a return burger stop at Jack's was a pastime she looked forward to.
Small in stature, she had a heart as big as Texas itself as she felt the need to rescue every stray dog or cat she came across.
Linda knew Jesus as her personal savior and spoke often of her prayers for her life and family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Jack Ayers; her beloved children, Tammy and husband Mike Bradford, Sandy and husband Gregg Hunt, David Ayers; cherished grandchildren Tyler Hunt and his wife Nikki, Taner Hunt and his fiance Brittany, Hayley Bradford, Micaiah Bradford, Easton Ayers; great grandsons Declan and Cohen Hunt; her loving sister Bonnie and husband Bill Sparks and niece Tracey and husband Laurent Jaffart; preceded in death by her brother Frankie Earl Owens, mother Francis Mae Nowak and father Ervy "Bud" Owens.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 6:00 pm at the Midlothian Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Sardis Cemetery. As we reflect on Linda's life, let us remember her as she was: a woman of Proverbs 31:25, who was "clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come."
We encourage friends and family to share memories and upload photos of Linda to her memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a comforting reminder of the compassionate, creative, funny, and loving woman Linda was.
