Kenneth Justiss

Kenneth "Ken" Glenn Justiss of Midlothian, age 77, passed peacefully at his home on March 31, 2025. Ken was born July 31, 1947, in Port Arthur, Texas, the second of two children born to Richard Shelton Justiss and Helen Ida Roth Justiss. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Shelton Justiss, Jr.

Ken was a 1965 graduate of Fox Chapel High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In November 1967 he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and was honorably discharged in 1973.

After leaving the military, he earned a degree in communications from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and landed a job with TM Productions in Dallas, Texas, a music production company that created musical ID's for radio and television stations around the world. During his years at TM he served as Vice-President of Operations and was awarded several Clio awards.

After leaving TM, he and his brother started Justiss & Justiss, Inc., a real estate brokerage firm in Dallas. He worked steadily in the real estate industry but also did freelance music production.

Ken is survived by his wife of 44 years, Charnita; his son, Gavin; his granddaughter, Jaina; his sisters-in-law Nadine Nickeson and husband Rob of Safety Harbor, Florida; Esther Turner and husband Kent of Fairview, Texas; Glenora Patterson and husband Edward of Amarillo, Texas; Gretchen Hoffman of Grand Prairie, Texas; brother-in-law Gilbert Spring and wife Joanna of Austin, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ken's life will be celebrated and remembered on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Midlothian Funeral Home, 200 East Avenue East, Midlothian, Texas, 76065. Visitation will begin at 11:00am, followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm. A graveside service will then be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas, 75211, at 2:15pm.
