Karen Ludwig

Karen Sue Ludwig passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Monday, April 27, 2026, at her home in Cedar Hill, Texas with her beloved husband of 63 years, Allen, by her side. Her son, Mitch, and daughter, Amy, were also by her side.

Funeral services for Karen will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Midlothian Funeral Home in Midlothian, Texas.

Karen loved to read, take care of her beautiful flowers, and watch baseball. Her face would light up when she had her family at her house. She poured so much of herself into preparing for holiday celebrations, birthdays, and meals for her family, and these won’t be the same without her. Karen was truly the epitome of “giving more than you take.”

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Tarver and Edna Marie Tarver, as well as her brothers, Jack Tarver, Dalton Tarver, Paul Tarver, Bob Tarver, and John Tarver.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Allen; her son Mitch and wife Susan Ludwig, daughter Julie Heafner and husband Robert; and daughter Amy Humbles. She is also survived by her brother Perry “Zip” Tarver and his wife Julie. She leaves behind 6 cherished grandchildren: Zachariah Long, Michael Ludwig, Allie Heafner Hicks, Kirsten Heafner Cekro, Emily Heafner, and Chance Walters. She was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved deeply. There are many surviving nephews and nieces feeling the loss of Karen as well.
