James Larry Forsythe

–

Midlothian, Texas

James Larry Forsythe of Midlothian, Texas, died on June 26, 2020, at home with his family by his side. Jim was the first of three children born to C.H. and Thelma Forsythe in Mexia, Texas. He was born on January 6, 1945, and spent a majority of is childhood in an around the west Texas area and Mexia as his family followed the booming oilfield industry. It was in Mexia that he attended Mexia High School where he was known as "Big Daddy" and met the love of his life, Doris Ellen Samford. They were married on the 27th of May, 1965. Jim attended Baylor University, University of Texas, and graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Industrial Psychology and a Chemistry minor in 1968. After college, he started his career in laboratory technology at Waco Hillcrest Hospital and then in Victoria Regional Medical Center as the Director of Labs before going into sales. Jim retired in 1995 after working as a Marketing Director and later as a Corporate Liaison to Olympus Medical Industrial Group. Jim has served a total of 15 years as an elder for the Church beginning in Midlothian, Hillsboro, and now in Maypearl. Prior to becoming ill, you could find Jim fishing with his son-in-law, Gary and the grandsons; vacationing in Hot Springs or Branson with Doris and the girls'; volunteering at the Maypearl Church of Christ doing many different activities or spending time with his Pretty, Pretty, 'Princess' Doris. Jim was always up for an adventure. He and Doris were known to take day trips - but if he mentioned a 'short-cut', passengers better pack lunch or bring snacks because a scenic route was soon to ensue. Jim's family meant the world to him! The only thing more important was his love and relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His desire was that everyone would know and love Christ the way he knew Him.
