Midlothian, Texas
Hunter Lane Wilkerson came into this world on May 17, 1996 in Dallas, Texas, joining his two year old perfect big sister, Lauren and completing Stacy and Jason's precious family. Raised with a fishing pole or a hunting rifle in his hand, Hunter spent his childhood learning more about the lessons of life from daddy, Grantan and Poppy than any school could ever teach him. School, however, would prove to be one of Hunter's greatest contributions to his character - a place to make friends - and make friends he did. Even as a precious, toe-headed toddler, Hunter loved everything outdoors and especially spending time at his great grandmother's lake house. Growing up surrounded by family - cousins closer than most siblings - Hunter was the one who kept the adults on their toes. Hunter will be remembered in his brown Yeti cap, wearing boots, eating chips, salsa and queso, always answering adults with "yes Ma'ams and "No sirs". When Texas country, like Kevin Fowler is heard, or Hannah Montana's "Party in the USA" is blaring on the radio, we will be thinking of great times with the best friend anyone could want. Every time a whiff of diesel fuel touches our senses, Hunter's pride and joy - his silver Dodge diesel dually pickup - will come to mind and generate a smile. Hunter's most dynamic character trait was his generous, loving heart that accepted people as they were without pretense. Hunter was known for his ability to make people laugh; he entertained his peers as the class-clown with which even teachers could not help to laugh and grow to adore. As a friend to literally everyone, Hunter's charismatic and distinct giggle built a special bond between him and his buddies and among the entire MHS Class of 2015. Hunter's cute little grin and bigger-than-life laugh could brighten the dullest or most sullen rooms instantaneously. If he wasn't working, he was with his friends. He would go 3 days without making it home to shower just to be with us. After high school, Hunter chose to go to work in construction - a perfect fit for the one who learned best by doing with a hands-on approach. His gift was definitely service, and he would do anything anyone needed...no questions asked. He loved hanging with the boys, but never lost sight of what was right. He instinctively sought out ways to help people. Hunter is survived by his parents, Stacy and Jason Wilkerson, sister, Lauren Wilkerson, grandparents, Sarah and Mac Wilkerson and Brenda and Freddy Starns, great-grandmother, Annette Wilkerson, Uncles and Aunts, Kemp Wilkerson and Robbie and Brad Starns, cousins, Cody, Madi, Jay Ryan and Carter Wilkerson, Drennan, Grayden, Asher and Hynson Starns and numerous family and friends.
