Hubert Malroy Kubala

–

Midlothian, Texas

Hubert Malroy Kubala was born on April 9, 1937 to Ruby and Willy Kubala in Weimer, Texas. He later moved to Columbus, Texas and graduated from Columbus High School. He had a love of writing and worked for the Columbus Newspaper (Colorado County Citizen) running the printing presses through high school and college. He later graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Journalism in 1962. He then went on to own his own printing company throughout his working career. He met the love of his life, Carol Cordes, during his time living in Columbus and they married in 1958. They moved to the Houston area where they raised their three children. Later in their retirement years they moved to Midlothian where they enjoyed spending time with their five grandchildren. They were blessed with 60 years of marriage. Hubert had a love for the church where he touched several children's lives teaching Sunday School. He completed various organized bible study series including the Bethel Bible Series. He also contributed his time by serving in Steven Ministries, on church councils, and many other volunteer organizations. Outside of church he was a Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed his lake property, riding his Honda scooter, and biking. His happy place was Galveston, Texas. Among his favorites there were Moody Gardens, sunsets, restaurants, services in historic churches, and events on the strand. With his best friend/wife by his side, Hubert and Carol traveled many fun miles on road trips around Texas and neighboring states. Hubert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, son, brother and witness to Christ. He will be greatly missed, but we rejoice knowing we will see him again someday.
