Frieda Rose Flatt

Frieda Rose Flatt (nee Berkowitz) was born on February 6, 1939, in New York City. She spent her youth in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, where she met the love of her life and husband of 60 years, James Flatt, who was stationed there with the US Army. In 1955, Frieda and James moved to Venus, Texas, where they built a wonderful life and family together. In addition to caring for her family, Frieda spent many years as a successful Avon saleswoman. She loved playing cards and board games with friends and family, enjoyed tennis, slot machines, and dancing the night away. She was a true foodie and loved shopping. But most importantly, Frieda was a devoted caregiver and beloved matriarch. She passed away on August 3, 2020, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Flatt, parents, David Berkowitz and Helen Martin; her siblings, Joan Dambra, Sam Berkowitz, and Robert Hegedus; and her grandson, Dustin Flatt. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, though her memory will live on in their hearts.
