Eugene Greaber

Midlothian, Texas

Eugene “Gene” Greaber, 88, of Midlothian, Texas, passed away on November 15, 2025.

Gene was born on November 5, 1937, in Tucson, Arizona. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and helped develop systems still used today in our military. His service to his nation was a point of great pride throughout his life and led to him working in White Sands, New Mexico, where he met the love of his life, Audrey Lee Shannon.

He married Audrey on August 28, 1964, and together they shared 50 beautiful years, forging a wonderful life for themselves and their children, living in Texas, Mexico and South Carolina. She preceded him in death in 2015, and many find comfort knowing they are now reunited with the Lord.

A devoted father, Gene helped raise four children: Shannon, Stephen, Stacy, and Leann. He was a steady, loving presence in their lives, always offering encouragement, wisdom, and support. He also had a wicked sense of humor that kept his family laughing, even in the toughest moments. His family grew over the years to include seven grandchildren—Kayla, Donna, Stephanie, Parker, Audrey, Brianna, and Sydney—and two great-grandchildren, Elliot and Augustus, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Gene will be remembered as a great dad, a loyal friend, and a man who lived with honor,
humility, and quiet strength. His kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be cherished forever.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Greenville, South Carolina. We ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to any ASPCA or Alzheimer’s organization in his memory.
