Doris was born March 20, 1929 to Alfred and Grace Green in David City, Nebraska. Shortly afterward her parents moved their family to San Diego, California.
She met her soul mate Nolan in San Diego while she was waiting in line for a roller coaster ride. Nolan was in the Navy looking for someone to ride with him and she volunteered. This would be a ride resulting in 62 years of marriage.
Their two oldest children were born in San Diego. Doris moved to Nolan's home state of Texas after World War II ended. Their next three children were born in Dallas.
She loved Jesus, had a servant's heart, was a member of Turning Point Church, and a faithful member of the Church of God for about 58 years.
Doris was a homemaker, who loved to cook and take care of her family. She had a green thumb and could grow any type of plant. Doris liked walking, playing 42, and bingo. Roller skating and dancing was a favorite pastime when she was younger. Later, her dancing could be seen as she would shake her booty while using her walker.
Doris and Nolan also enjoyed volunteering at the Renfro Nursing Home, at their local Food Bank, and Senior Center.
Doris is survived by her sister Shirley Merceri of San Diego, California. Her children Randy Moran, Mary Moran Cobb, Travis and Wanda Moran, Bob and Cathy Moran, David and Cathey Moran Dale; 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Grace Green, her husband Nolan Moran, and her great grandson John Mark Moran.
To celebrate her life a visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 6 to 8 in the evening. A service will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 12:30 in the afternoon. Burial will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
We wish to thank all of our dear friends for their kindness, support, and prayers.
