Donald Martin "Skeets" Foote

Donald Martin "Skeets" Foote was born on June 1, 1932 in Blue Island, IL, to Martin and Ruth Foote. Raised in Homewood, IL, along with his younger sister, Barbara and their prized chickens. Skeets enter the US Navy with his lifelong friend, Morris Fredericks after graduating high school. Skeets had many jobs and even more talents. He found his greatest satisfaction in starting his own flooring installation service which he retired from in the mid 90's. Skeets met the love of his life, Nancy Long, through a mutual friend in 1957 and they were married in 1958. Skeets and Nancy would have celebrated 60 years this October. God blessed Skeets and Nancy with two wonderful children, son, Duane Matthew "Butch" Foote and daughter, Jan Ellen Foote Blank. Skeets and Nancy loved their 42 years in Illinois but got to Texas as soon as they could. He often said Texas is wasted on Texans to describe his newfound love of his new home. Skeets was baptized into New Hope Community Church in 2001. He was the proud "Poppa" to five grandchildren, Douglas, Valerie and Gregory Foote and Sam and Sarah Blank. Skeets closed his eyes on this earth on June 29, 2018 and opened his eyes to his Lord Jesus Christ, his son, Butch and Daughter, Jan, where there was great jubilation.
