Midlothian, Texas
Theda D'Ann (Kuykendall) Moore was born March 20, 1941, in Abilene, Texas to Theda Lenora Powers and George Atwell. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday, April 11, 2019. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Midlothian Funeral Home located at 200 E. Avenue E in Midlothian with internment to follow in the Midlothian Cemetery in Midlothian, Texas. D'Ann grew up in several small towns across Texas, surrounded by a tight-knit circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings. As a teenager she moved to Midlothian where she attended Midlothian High School. She became a hairdresser and worked for many years at The Beauty Bar in Midlothian. Later in life she retired and moved to Springtown Texas. She was an avid tennis player, gardener, and was not opposed to a little bootscootin' on a Friday night. Most of all, she relished in being a very active "Mimi" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could often be found cheering them on from the stands at sports events, in the sewing room walking them through a project, or sitting next to them on the back of a 4-wheeler tearing through the pasture. She was not afraid to get her nails dirty with them in the garden and would drop everything for them when a pep-talk or reality check was needed. D'Ann is survived by her husband Don Moore of Springtown, daughters Cindy Rodgers (Danny) and Debbie Phillippi of Midlothian, and Myia Kuykendall (Jarrett Hinds) of Waxahachie, as well as her step-daughters Stacy Spurlock (Tommy) and Susan Hinton (Jason) of Springtown. Her memory will live on with her 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by former husband and cherished friend Milton Kuykendall of Midlothian, as well as numerous and much loved extended family. Visitation will be held at Midlothian Funeral Home at 1:00 on Tuesday April 16, followed a celebration of D'Ann's life at 2:00. Internment will follow at Midlothian Cemetery.
