Connie Louise Brashear Hinson went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2016 after a brief illness. Connie was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Jack and Nila "Cricket" Brashear. She graduated from Carlsbad High School and went to college at Wayland Baptist College in Plainview, Texas, and then returned home to Carlsbad. She was working in her aunt's hamburger stand when she served a hamburger to the man who would become her husband and the love of her life, John Hinson. Connie and John moved around the country in the early years of their marriage but settled down back in Carlsbad, where they lived for many years. They brought their kids up in the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Carlsbad. They enjoyed raising their family, riding motorcycles, and pampering numerous lucky dogs. They often joked that when they died, they wanted to come back as a Hinson dog. When their sons moved to Texas, John and Connie followed and lived for a time near Jack in Eddie, Texas, and then with Tracy in Midlothian, Texas. Connie loved going to church, reading her bible, and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She will be dearly missed. Connie is survived by her husband John, her brother Don (Carol) Brashear, her sons Jack (Shannon), Tracy (Kelli), and Bert (Terri), and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother George Brashear, and her daughters Joyce Ann Mann and Janet Hess. A memorial service will be held in Midlothian, Texas at 10:00 a.m. at Midlothian Funeral Home, and Connie will be laid to rest in Copperas Cove, Texas.
