Alan Brown

–

Midlothian, Texas

Alan Jack Brown was born January 13, 1951, in Dallas, Texas. He spent his young life in Cedar Hill and has lived in Midlothian for 32 years. Alan was genuinely loved and respected by all that knew him. He was honest, loyal, and reliable, traits that served him well as a family man and business owner/operator. He co-owned a successful tile roofing business with his brother for over 35 years. Any friend or family member would attest that he was the hardest working fellow they have known. He had a profound love for his wife, children and grandchildren. His grandchildren have been the sweet topping on a life well lived, and he was proud to be affectionately known as their "Grumpy." His life was a living example of a favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 - "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."

Alan's life was full of enriching experiences. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time on his ranch properties with family and friends. He liked to travel and his favorite trips were an Alaskan cruise, the mountains of Colorado, and beach locations. He had an ardent interest in finance and stock trading, and an admiration of western and sci-fi movies. Alan's resilience and commitment was proven in his achievements. He was a jack of all trades and could fix, repair and build almost anything. He invested his labor and time in planning and building his family's home from the ground up.

Alan's faith was a constant source of strength guiding him through life's many challenges. He was a devoted family man who prioritized the wellbeing, health, and happiness of his loved ones. His camaraderie with long-time friends was a testament to his supportive and loyal nature. Together they filled his life with fun, practical jokes, and good-natured jabs.

Alan is survived by his loving wife, Judi; his sons Brandon, Weston (Anna), and Hayden (Lindsey); brother Mark (Rachael), and brother-in-law Stuart Holveck. He leaves behind treasured memories with his precious grandchildren, Hudson, Levi, and Edith, and was proud to be affectionately known as their "Grumpy." His nephew and nieces, Kelly, Molly, Emily and Randi, were also dear to his heart. Alan was preceded in death by his father, Jack; mother, Emogene; sister, Norma Jane; and sister-in-law, Janet Holveck.

The visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 3-5 pm at Midlothian Funeral Home, 200 East Avenue East, Midlothian, Texas, 76065. The funeral service will take place on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 11:00 am at the same venue. Alan's final resting place will be the Midlothian Cemetery.

Alan's family thanks everyone that was supportive of and loving to him during his illness. Your kindness will not be forgotten. As we remember and celebrate Alan's life, we invite you to share your memories to the memorial page.
